Najib chasing Indian votes for GE13, 2012

This is so clear. So blaringly blasted. So desperate and so pathetic.

There has just been a tsunami of goodies offered to Malaysian Indians this year - scholarships, building of a crematorium, funding for Tamil primary schools and just today in the Star, our beloved PM said this, "I hope that within (the next) five years, we will see the improvement of the Indian community."

What??? That' s just great isn't it, my fellow citizens?

Malaysia has been independent since 1957 and only by 2017 will the lot of the Indian community "improve".

This must be admission that for the last 55 years, the ruling BN government has deliberately (or inadvertently, busy as the government is on other matters) ignored or neglected its Indian electorate.

And with these late, though bountiful, handouts, BN (UMNO) hopes to recapture the hearts and trust and votes of the Indian community. Sure, it's a start for the government to start treating its citizens fairly.

But how did the government get shaken and woken up to the needs and grouses of the Indian community?

By losing a massive number of seats in the 2008 general election. Because the rakyat voted and showed the comfortable, entrenched politicians enjoying the good life that this country does not belong to them, but to all Malaysians.

BN is finally "working", finally looking into the needs of Malaysians, into the inspirations and aspirations of its people, into the need to properly govern the country so that it may prosper for all generations to come and not merely to fatten the personal coffers of political leaders and their extended families.

Well, keep up the good work BN. The rakyat needs to see more of it, and consistently and continuously.

The minute a government gets lazy, corrupted, and slacks off, democracy deems it fit that the ruling government be replaced by another chosen by the people. Surely you will not disagree with that dear PM?
